Simplicity is key with this look. Bold and effortless, a drop waist shift dress weighs perfectly with a chunky wedged sandal. Thanks to my co worker Tarina, for introducing me to my new obsession, turbans. Creativity really runs in her family, her Uncle makes these Jacono Bags. This look makes a statement with just a few key ingredients for a chic, boho look!
Alright yall, sorry I've been so slack this past week! To get back on track, I want to introduce you to boohoo. Boohoo is one of the UK's leading online fashion retailers. It's affordable prices, and trendy looks are a fair combination of Zara, Forever21, and Topshop... but on crack. You can find just about anything you need on this single site. Be sure to check it out!
Flamingos, parrots, palm trees, and sun; a few things that strike us with the fever... island fever. Memorial day is upon us, and its time to spice up our wardrobes with bright items that remind us of vacation. Here are a few of my favorites thus far!
It's always nice to support our fellow USA manufacturers. With that, I give you sisters Anahid and Arminé Thompson, creators of "Noubar." Bags with a cool, playful, unexpected, one of a kind twist. These going out bags are created out of repurposed vinyl from old billboard signs, making up the perfect marriage of old and new... proudly made in the USA! With a knack for pattern mixing, I instantly fell in love with the Woodland A 1 Bag. I'm currently coveting this summer time look! Check out other awesome Noubar bags here!
For those of you who knew me while I was growing up, you know well that I wasn't much of a girly girl. The girliest thing I would wear was an Arielle (from The Little Mermaid) pajama set. Of course, I eventually grew out of that phase. (Clearly, since I'm running a fashion blog here.) But that Tom-boy look still holds a place in my heart. This sophisticated, letterman-looking outfit gives that vibe. Yes, I used to own the soccer field at recess, and yes, I used to be able to outrun all of the boys in P.E. I STILL believe I can do that.
Resist the urge to splurge on $100+ sandals this season. You may officially get jacked up with excitement because one of everyone's favorite shoe designers has created a money-saving label. Sam and Libby for Target! Textures, colors, and "pizzaz," get it all here for $34.99 and under!
As you all may recall, I have an obsession for anything and everything finders KEEPERS. Once I laid eyes on this asymmetric skirt, I knew I had to have it. It's neon orange pop, made for an easy pairing with any colorful top. With some minor color blocking, it was a no-brainer to incorporate my mint Gigi New York Uber Clutch. "Make Up your Wardrobe"-NARS
Nordstrom is also known for a wide variety of awesome make-up. Nono, over at the NARS counter did such a fabulous job on my face; giving my skin an effortless, flawless look. I personally, am terrible when it comes to cosmetics. I really don't know much about them. If you're anything like me, make sure to check them out at Nordstrom, Montgromery if you're in need of a little help too!
3)NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer- Enriched with hydrating, multi-action skincare benefits and light-diffusing technology. It's perfect for me since I have such dry skin.
4)NARS Orgasm Blush- Aside from being amused by it for its name, it imparts a natural, healthy glow for any skin tone and may be worn alone or layered together for more depth and intensity.
5)NARS Satin Lip Pencil- Saving the best for last, this color is FAB. It stays on your lips for hours. A modern, long-wearing, vitamin-enriched formula for lips that look sumptuously saturated and dramatically defined.
Very excited to jump back into bright whites with Memorial Day weekend just around the corner! Instead of pairing patterns for this look, I focused more on the textures of each item. I loved the idea of the origami looking skort from Zara, paired with a tweed-like jacket, white fringes, and a white lazer-cut bag. For a finished look, I wore a pair of python textured heels and a touch of neon.
